To be sure and to give evidence that your product in contact with skin is innocuous and really not-irritating, Chelab in collaboration with the University of Padua, performs patch testing which assess the compatibility of cosmetic or detergent formulations destined to come into contact with human skin.
Usage conditions are amplified (occlusive patch until 24 hours, semi-occlusive patch until 24 hours) or open in order to confirm that the product is not irritating in normal or reasonable expectable usage conditions. In fact the test can be carried out only after a safety surveyor has attested that no significant risk to volunteers is expected in method conditions.
The test is performed once per month (summer months excluded), the analytical procedure it’s quite similar in the three conditions but while occlusive and semi-occlusive patch test is indicated in case of cosmetics, the open one is indicated in case of detergents, softeners or formulations of high irritant potential.
PROCEDURE
1. Choose the number of samples: remember to send together with your sample the innocuity declaration to guarantee the compatibility of your product. Chelab performs the analyses on the following matrices: cosmetics, detergents, softeners, formulation of high irritant potential
2. Click the order button and read carefully the following instruction
3. Fill in the apposite space the information regarding your samples (e.g. INCI (list of ingredients), aspect, condition...)
4. Fulfil the registration form or login with your username and password if you are already a customer
5. Pay on line with any credit card. Chelab sends you the invoice
6. Send your samples to Chelab
7. Chelab sends you the original certify with the dermatologist signature.
